MODELLING

Welcome to my modelling pages a hotch potch of pages about my interests in modelling.

A bit about my modelling background (boring bit). In my real life I served an apprenticeship as a fitter turner, but spent a lot of time working as a prototype model maker for various organisations including The M.O.D and best of all Lesney International Ltd (Matchbox toys) where I was employed as a Toy Engineer silly name for a model maker, Best job I ever had a really nice bunch of blokes to work with and some fun projects. The die cast car model making was done at the Rochford Essex plant but I worked at Hackney in London's east end. One of the guys I worked with was Harry, who had been building and flying model aircraft since the 1940s. On a Friday afternoon as we finished at midday he would take a couple of us over to Wanstead flats and eventually taught us to fly 2 channel radio control i/c planes and as they say the rest is history, thanks Harry. So I have been building, flying and sailing radio control  models since the 1970s.

As I have just returned to modelling after a break of a couple of years I thought I would put together these pages so you could have a laugh as I struggle to reacquire the old skills and no doubt build what my family call dustbin bag models along the way (they sometimes land a bit harder than intended).

Anyway feel free to wander around the pages using the links on the left if you see anything of interest. If you have any comments or suggestions please email me.
